Database Security Analyst
to join our client's growing cybersecurity team. This isn't just a checkbox role-you'll be at the heart of protecting critical data assets while collaborating with business stakeholders, technology teams, and vendors to keep systems secure and efficient.
This role begins with an in-office training period in North Houston. After that, remote work may be available at the manager's discretion for candidates based in approved states.
What You'll Do Administer and monitor database security systems for
on-prem and cloud environments . Work hand-in-hand with the Cybersecurity Threat Intelligence Lead to analyze and respond to threats. Manage database security solutions- logging, alerting, threat analysis, and tuning . Monitor for vulnerabilities, attacks, and suspicious activity, escalating appropriately. Recommend and implement security policies, ensuring regulatory compliance and alignment with industry best practices. Assist in troubleshooting and high-level issue resolution. Stay ahead of the curve on security threats and technologies, advising on improvements. Provide guidance on
network security
practices where database and infrastructure intersect. What You Bring
3+ years
in network or systems administration. 2+ years
in SQL or database security administration. A proven track record of diagnosing and solving complex technical issues. Strong technical knowledge of
security configurations, log analysis, intrusion detection, and mitigation . Solid understanding of
network security practices and standards . Excellent verbal communication and technical writing skills. Ability to work independently while thriving in a collaborative team environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and modern database platforms. Bonus Points
Hands-on with
MS-SQL, Imperva Sonar, Cloud Security, SIEM, EDR, Vulnerability Management, Python, or Automation/Orchestration . Experience in
financial services or banking
environments. An IT-related degree. Location & Work Setup
