We are seeking a Database Administrator (DBA) with strong Informix expertise to manage, maintain, and optimize our database environment. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, highly analytical, and capable of supporting business-critical applications while collaborating with cross-functional teams. This role combines database administration, performance tuning, security, and application support to ensure our data systems run efficiently and reliably.
Key Responsibilities
Administer, maintain, and optimize Informix databases, ensuring high availability, reliability, and performance. Install, configure, upgrade, and patch Informix database environments and related tools. Perform regular database backups, recovery, and disaster recovery planning. Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement tuning and optimization strategies. Maintain database security policies, user accounts, and access privileges. Collaborate with IT, development, and business teams for database design, schema changes, and application integration. Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues promptly. Document database configurations, processes, and procedures for knowledge management. Participate in database migration, upgrade, and scaling projects as required. Mentor or provide guidance to junior database staff and other team members. Support ERP or enterprise applications, with emphasis on Infor platforms. Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Hands-on experience with Informix database administration, including setup, configuration, performance tuning, and optimization Proficiency in SQL and scripting for database maintenance, automation, and reporting. Experience with database backup, recovery, replication, and high availability solutions. Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across teams. Preferred Qualifications
Informix certification(s) (e.g., IBM Informix DBA Certification). Experience in Unix/Linux environments and shell scripting. Knowledge of other database platforms (SQL Server, Oracle) and cloud database solutions. Familiarity with ERP or enterprise application support, particularly Infor systems. Seniority level
