Overview
The Security Solutions Architect (SA) is a key pre-sales technical expert who partners closely with Encores Account Managers to understand customer needs, design tailored cybersecurity solutions, and articulate the business value of our offerings. This role requires a strong background in enterprise cybersecurity, including areas such as SASE, ZTNA, MDR, cloud security, and traditional network protection strategies. The SA leads solution planning and design efforts, aligning Encores portfolio with client goals across a range of industries and technical environments. Responsibilities
Collaborate with account managers and customers to uncover technical and business challenges, especially related to cybersecurity posture and risk. Lead technical discovery sessions and conduct assessments of existing environments to identify gaps and opportunities. Design scalable, secure architectures and solutions aligned to client goals and industry standards (NIST, CIS, etc.). Create compelling deliverables including High-Level Designs (HLDs), Bill of Materials (BOMs), Statements of Work (SOWs), and executive-level presentations. Support sales cycles with technical expertise, demos, and by translating technical solutions into business value. Maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, and internal technical teams to ensure solution success. Stay current on cybersecurity trends, tools, and vendor technologies. Participate in post-sale handoffs to ensure alignment between pre-sales designs and implementation. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Bachelors degree and/or military experience 5+ years of experience in a cybersecurity architect or pre-sales engineering role, ideally within a Value-Added Reseller (VAR) or systems integrator. Deep expertise in core cybersecurity domains: firewalls, ZTNA, SASE, MFA, 802.1x, MDR, MSSP models, and cloud security (AWS, Azure preferred). Strong familiarity with solutions from: Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Check Point, Splunk, Zscaler. Experience creating and delivering SOWs, proposals, and technical documentation in pre-sales contexts. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to convey complex technical topics to both technical and non-technical audiences. Comfortable working independently, managing multiple priorities, and supporting a fast-paced sales environment. Preferred Certifications
CISSP, CCNP Security, PCNSE, Fortinet NSE, or equivalent vendor certifications. Physical Requirements
Hybrid position; must be local or within commutable distance to assigned territory. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on computer. Occasional walking between facilities. Light travel to customer sites (
