Our company, a growing
medical device manufacturer with ~$40M in annual revenue , is seeking a
Cost Accountant
to join our finance team. Reporting directly to the Controller, you'll be a key player in
analyzing costs, optimizing inventory valuation, and delivering the financial insights that keep our business moving forward.
What You'll Do
Own the numbers that matter
- Maintain and analyze standard costs for products (materials, labor, overhead) and provide variance analysis with actionable recommendations. Keep us on track
- Monitor, reconcile, and value inventory across raw materials, WIP, and finished goods while supporting cycle counts and physical inventories. Be our financial storyteller
- Prepare accurate and timely reports, journal entries, reconciliations, and cost metrics to keep leadership informed and aligned. Shape the future
- Contribute to annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and strategic decision-making by analyzing spending trends, production efficiency, and margins. Collaborate cross-functionally
- Partner with production, supply chain, and engineering to evaluate cost impacts of process improvements, new product launches, and capital investments. What We're Looking For
Education : Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA, CMA, or advanced degree is a plus). Experience : 3-5 years of cost accounting in a manufacturing environment (medical device or regulated industry strongly preferred). Skills : Solid grasp of cost accounting, inventory valuation, and GAAP. Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.). Advanced Excel and data analysis skills. Strong communication and problem-solving abilities. Mindset : Detail-oriented, collaborative, and driven by continuous improvement.
