This is an onsite role, with standard working hours Monday through Friday and occasional overtime as needed.About the Role In this position, you will facilitate mechanical building system design, startups, and commissioning activities for industrial projects. You will oversee equipment and pipe installations, coordinate with contractors, and ensure projects meet schedule, cost, and quality expectations. Your expertise in mechanical engineering and industrial building construction will help deliver successful project outcomes. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday (Overtime up to 25%) Travel: 5% domestic travel, primarily to Georgetown, KY Overtime: Up to 25%What You'll Be DoingFacilitate mechanical system design, startups, and commissioning activitiesReview product/equipment submittals, shop drawings, and contractor-generated RFIsEnsure compliance with safety procedures, OSHA standards, and electrical/building codes (IBC, NEC, NESC, NFPA, ASME, AMCA, ARI, AWS, ASHRAE, FM)Coordinate with contractors and vendors for factory testing, delivery, installation, and handoverConduct inspections and quality verification of mechanical systems and installationsManage weekend or plant shutdown work with contractors and plant teamsPrepare field engineering status reports and provide technical feedback to improve project standardsEffectively communicate technical matters in written and verbal formatsMulti-task, prioritize, and manage project commitments to meet deadlines and milestonesWhat You BringBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent industrial construction experience)5-10 years of experience in industrial building construction or mechanical project engineeringExperience with HVAC, pipe installations, and large-scale industrial equipment installationFamiliarity with industrial building projects (office expansions, plant buildings) - automotive experience is a plusAbility to coordinate with building trades and union contractorsStrong project management, problem-solving, and communication skillsBonus Skills (Nice to Have) Journeyman industrial mechanic experience (10-15 years) Experience with foundations, steel structures, or hard building expansions Prior work on hospital or large office building projectsInterview Process First round: MS Teams interview Second round: Onsite interview If you're an experienced mechanical engineer ready to lead large industrial projects, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and ensure high-quality execution, apply today!Equal Opportunity Employer CrossSafety is committed to fostering an inclusive workplace.
