Description

The Vice President of Finance is a strategic leadership role responsible for shaping and executing the companys financial strategy to drive growth, profitability, and long-term value. Reporting to the CEO, this role oversees all financial operations, ensures regulatory compliance, and provides data-driven insights to support informed decision-making. By promoting fiscal discipline, optimizing resources, and collaborating with cross-functional leaders, the Vice President of Finance could transition into the Chief Financial Officer role within 18 months.

Responsibilities Strategic Financial Planning : Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the organizations goals, including long-term forecasting, budgeting, and scenario analysis. Financial Operations Oversight : Manage all aspects of financial operations, including accounting, payroll, accounts

payable/receivable,

tax preparation, and cash flow management. Financial Reporting : Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and presentations for internal stakeholders, board members, and external partners. Compliance and Risk Management : Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including tax laws and industry-specific standards. Implement robust internal controls and risk management strategies. Budgeting and Forecasting : Lead the budgeting process, collaborating with department heads to create and monitor budgets that optimize resource allocation. Data Analysis and Decision Support : Analyze financial data and market trends to provide actionable insights to the CEO and executive team for strategic decision-making. Team Leadership : Build and mentor a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Investor and Stakeholder Relations : Manage relationships with financial institutions, investors, and auditors. Process Optimization : Implement and automate financial systems and processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability. Cost and Revenue Management : Identify opportunities for cost reduction, revenue enhancement, and operational efficiency to maximize profitability.

Qualifications and Requirements Education : Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. A Masters degree (e.g., MBA) or professional certifications (CPA, CFA, or CMA) are preferred. Experience : 8-12 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 4-5 years in a senior leadership role. Experience in the relevant industry (e.g., construction, solar, and/or manufacturing) is a plus. Technical Skills : Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and analysis. Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite), financial software, and data visualization tools. Regulatory Knowledge : Strong understanding of financial regulations, GAAP, tax laws, and compliance requirements. Leadership Experience : Proven track record of leading and developing finance teams, managing cross-functional projects, and driving financial performance.
