Director, Accounting – Waste Treatment Facilities Onsite at Headquarters | Travel up to 40–50% About the Role: Our client is seeking an experienced Director of Accounting to lead financial management and analysis for its Non-Hazardous and Hazardous Waste Treatment Facilities. This role is responsible for overseeing accounting operations, driving data-driven insights, supporting audits, and partnering closely with operations to improve efficiency and profitability. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong operational experience, excellent data analysis skills, and the ability to collaborate across business functions. This is an onsite role at our client's headquarters with travel required up to 40–50%. Key Responsibilities · Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes for waste treatment facilities. · Partner with operations leadership to analyze performance, improve efficiency, and evaluate capital improvements. · Prepare and present financial results, KPIs, and insights for executive leadership and Board meetings. · Manage intercompany transfers, allocations, and financial reporting processes. · Support audits and ensure compliance with US GAAP and internal controls. · Drive process improvements to strengthen financial operations. · Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning. Qualifications · Bachelor's degree in Accounting (CPA strongly preferred). · 8–12 years of progressive experience in accounting, audit, finance, or controllership. · Proven operational experience partnering with non-finance teams. · Strong data analysis and financial modeling skills. · Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with ERP systems (NetSuite a plus). · Excellent communication and presentation skills. · Willingness to travel up to 40–50%. · Must be onsite at headquarters.
