Position Overview The Senior Design Engineer will oversee technical aspects of NPD, COS, and ODA activities within the Technical Services team and assist in product investigations as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Review parts for compliance with HEICO design and quality standards before FAA PMA approval, including detailed inspection data analysis.
Mentor and advise engineering and quality teams regarding FAA-managed activities, policies, and regulations.
Participate in product investigations, including forensic and engineering analysis, reporting, and briefing preparation for customers and regulatory agencies.
Minimum Qualifications Education
BSc or higher in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering; MSc preferred.
Experience
Minimum 10 years in aerospace product realization, including design, process development, and quality reviews.
Knowledge in areas such as turbine engines, aircraft components, structures, or controls and accessories.
Understanding of structural, thermal, and vibration analysis, aerospace materials, and manufacturing methods.
Certifications
PE registration preferred.
Additional Skills
Proficiency in English, organized, meticulous, and approachable.
Competency in GD&T (ASME Y14.5M), problem-solving, and interpreting aerospace specifications.
Experience with CAD (Pro-E, SolidWorks), FEA (MSC PATRAN, ABAQUS), and statistical analysis.
Physical & Work Environment
Occasional physical activity including lifting up to 25 pounds.
Primarily office-based with potential exposure to industrial environments, machinery, and chemicals.
Travel to various sites, including international destinations, may be required.
