The Save Mart Companies The Center Store Manager ensures that our customers’ needs are met and exceeded through effective day-to-day management of the operations and merchandising functions for the Center Store Department. This position oversees Center Store product and conditions to optimize sales, profits, and customer satisfaction (including back room and shelving conditions, inventory, schematics, and pricing). The Center Store Manager provides leadership and direction to Center Store associates to promote a culture reflective of Lucky’s mission statement and winning behaviors. This position trains and develops associates to enable their success and ability to advance in their careers. The Center Store Manager manages department performance and productivity to optimize store performance. Responsibilities Lead Center Store operations and merchandising to meet customer needs and drive sales and profitability. Provide direction and development for Center Store team members; promote a positive, safety-conscious work environment. Oversee back room, shelving, inventory, pricing, and store conditions to optimize store performance. Ensure compliance with store policies, safety standards, and applicable regulations. Collaborate with store leadership to implement plans for growth and improvement. Qualifications Education: Two-year college degree (or equivalent knowledge gained through formal education, specialized training, or additional job experience) Experience: Completion of Assistant Center Store Manager rotation – or – two years of equivalent management experience – or – in current Bakery Department Manager, Meat Department Manager, or Produce Department Manager role Other: Must be available to work a variety of required retail hours; forklift certified Physical: Requires standing and other physical movements on a frequent basis; lifting up to 40 lbs without assistance Compensation and Benefits Hiring pay range: $25.36 - $36.48 Benefits: Health, Dental, Vision, Life and AD&D, 401K; tuition reimbursement and scholarship opportunities; vacation and personal holidays; in-store purchase discounts Competencies Customer Focus Leading People Management Skills Personal/Interpersonal Skills Strong communication, interpersonal, leadership/team building, customer service, training, organization, math and administration skills Knowledge of department operations and financials, store hazardous materials and food safety rules, products, visual merchandising techniques, use and care of center store equipment and tools About Us We are California’s largest regional, full-service grocery chain, founded over 70 years ago in Modesto, California, where our headquarters are still located today.
