Location: San Diego county, California. Role: Senior Design Engineer to lead the design and integration of fuselage and wing structures for utility aircraft using 3DEXPERIENCE tools. Apply advanced knowledge of metallic and composite materials to optimize performance, ensure regulatory compliance, and support cross-functional collaboration across design, analysis, manufacturing, and certification teams. Lead design and development of fuselage and wing structures using CATIA V5 and 3DEXPERIENCE. Ensure structural integrity, manufacturability, and compliance with aerospace standards across design, analysis, and certification phases. Coordinate with design, stress, and manufacturing teams, ensuring alignment with project leads and certification stakeholders for timely delivery. Area of Responsibility
Lead design activities for fuselage and wing structures under various load cases. Author, review, and approve design documents, CAD models, and engineering drawings. Work with Stress Analysis team to validate the design concept. Conduct quality checks on design deliverables to ensure accuracy, compliance, and manufacturability. Interface with certification authorities to ensure regulatory alignment. Optimize structural designs for weight, performance, and cost efficiency. Apply deep knowledge of metallic and composite materials to enhance structural integrity and reduce weight. Support prototypes build and flight test campaigns, ensuring design intent is met. Knowledge / Experience
5–10 years of experience in aerospace structural design. Bachelor’s degree in aerospace / mechanical engineering Proficiency in CATIA V5, ENOVIA, and 3DEXPERIENCE. Good understanding of composite and metallic structures. Well versed with composite modelling best practices and design principles. Familiarity with aerospace certification standards (FAR 23 & FAR 27) Exposure to eVTOL or UAV platforms is a plus. Project management and presentation skills Seniority level
