The Department of Human Services (DHS) is seeking to hire a Senior Continuous Improvement Consultant to lead strategic initiatives that enhance agency-wide continuous and process improvement. This role collaborates with division leaders to identify and develop improvement opportunities aligned with DHS strategic objectives. This consultant will empower staff to implement effective improvements with their areas, providing training, coaching, mentoring, project facilitation, and specialized consulting to foster a continuous improvement culture. This position acts as a key spokesperson on DHS’s continuous improvement culture and process improvement projects; designs and delivers comprehensive training programs to facilitate impactful process improvement projects; develops actionable recommendations for DHS management to support the achievement of mission strategic goals and objectives; and demonstrates flexibility and autonomy in daily activities to drive operational efficiency. The ideal candidate is a highly motived self-starter, eager to collaborate with the DHS workforce to enhance customer value and streamline processes for improved effectiveness and efficiency. Essential Functions

Serves as the Senior Continuous Improvement Consultant for the Department of Human Services (DHS) to support both the Office of the Secretary and Divisions on an on-demand basis in the completion of specialized projects, assignments, and employee training on the principles of continuous improvement. Leads the execution of agency continuous improvement projects that support the operations of DHS. Maintains positive open and cooperative working relationships with intra and inter agency management staff to implement agency improvements. Carries out strategic initiatives that support the fundamentals of continuous improvement and process improvement throughout the agency. Perform other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above. Minimum Qualifications

Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college, preferably with courses in business or public administration. Requires prior experience equivalent to three (3) years of progressively responsible administrative continuous improvement experience in a public or business organization. Preferred Qualifications

Certification in one or more operational excellence, continuous improvement, and/or process improvement models. Two (2) years of professional experience using the principles of continuous improvement to enhance business processes via specialized projects, assignments, and employee training for a public or private organization. Two (2) years of professional experience leading the execution of agency/business-wide continuous improvement projects that support the operations of a public or private organization. Three (3) years of professional experience developing and implementing improvement initiatives, using change management models, collaboratively across all levels of staff and stakeholders, including senior leadership, for a public or private organization. Two (2) years of professional experience carrying out strategic initiatives that support the fundamentals of continuous and process improvement for a public or private organization. Three (3) years of professional experience developing and delivering professional presentations for large audiences. Conditions of Employment
