Software Development Engineer, Kuiper Government Solutions (Amazon) – Redmond, WA. Project Kuiper aims to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites providing low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities. This role designs, builds, and maintains APIs and interfaces to link Kuiper capabilities to US Government customers such as NASA, DoD, and other National Security customers. You will develop forward-looking software services for mission-critical space safety and sustainability applications that coordinate with external systems and organizations rapidly, reliably, and at scale. Responsibilities

Interface with the Kuiper network team to develop APIs and enabling interface software that meet unique customer needs (network topology, SDN, and network operations experience). Demonstrate the capabilities of the interfaces and architectures in a simulated test environment you help develop. Solve complex technical problems related to the Kuiper constellation for government customers as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Lead internal and vendor teams to develop and deliver software and interface requirements. Ensure systems meet Kuiper and US Government performance needs including availability, reliability, upgradeability, interoperability, and security requirements. Effectively communicate project health, risks, and issues to stakeholders and management teams; escalate urgent issues and drive to closure in a timely manner. Provide visualizations and document results, communicating them across multi-disciplinary project teams. The role is located in Redmond, WA, and includes US relocation benefits. 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems Experience programming with at least one software programming language Preferred Qualifications

The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year to $223,600/year, depending on market location and experience.
