Director, Datacenter Power Systems Architectures
is pivotal in developing end-to-end power and energy solutions for our data center clients, aligning our internal product roadmap with key industry trends and defining new optimized architectures. The ideal candidate will possess deep familiarity with diverse electrical systems, power delivery networks, and the evolving energy infrastructure of modern data center operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate product development and application experience, technical expertise, strong customer relations skills, and proficiency in defining product roadmaps. This role involves deep engagement with strategic customers and working with global cross-functional teams to develop, implement, and execute solutions. The candidate will be responsible for evaluating diverse technical approaches and carefully synthesizing ideal solutions. The candidate must be able to balance theoretical concepts with practical implementation. This position will be based onsite at Vertiv's Delaware, OH office location. Responsibilities
Define and execute strategies for datacenter architectures ensuring alignment with organizational goals and customer needs. Lead the architectural definition and evolution of current and future datacenter architectures. Foster strong relationships and establish credibility with customers to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions. Collaborate with engineering, product management, business development, and sales teams to develop innovative solutions that align with market demands. Innovation: Identify emerging technologies and trends in power and energy systems, integrating them into customer solutions. Define evaluation criteria for assessing datacenter architectural fit with customer needs. Participate in and represent Vertiv in relevant industry consortiums. Maintain relevant industry knowledge regarding regulations pertinent to future datacenter architectures.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related field); Masters degree preferred. 10+ years of relevant experience in the energy market, with specific expertise in power and energy ecosystems. 5+ years in critical infrastructure power delivery; ideally in data center or high-density power design. Engineering: Clear understanding of diverse electrical systems segments with an ability to translate experiences between them. Power Systems Background: Experience with both AC and DC architectures Leadership: Confident, mature, with ability to connect and motivate others. Ability to lead projects and teams that successfully achieve milestones and complete deliverables. Analytical Thinking and Decision-Making: can confidently consider tradeoff decisions Teamwork and Interpersonal Skills: A team player and builder, works across product lines as well as geographies. Knowledge of industry standards and certification requirements relevant to energy systems (IEEE, IEC, UL, others).
