Since its founding in 2015, 1X has been at the forefront of developing advanced humanoid robots designed for household use. At 1X, youll own critical roles and have agency to innovate and improve in any and all talent processes and be rewarded based on merit and achievement. We are looking for a Senior People Partner, specialised in Manufacturing environments and with deep California employment law knowledge. In this role, you will work across departments, with leadership and the current HR and Talent teams. Responsibilities

Lead complex and sensitive employee relations matters with sound judgment, empathy, and legal compliance. Serve as a strategic HR advisor to leaders in our manufacturing and operations teams. Partner cross-functionally with Legal and Compliance to interpret and apply California labor laws, wage and hour regulations, and relevant employment standards. Support hourly employee populations, particularly in production, robotics assembly, and field operations. Serve as a trusted resource for employees and managers, ensuring equitable treatment and resolution of concerns Participate in talent reviews, compensation planning, and other core HR processes in partnership with the People team. Demonstrated ability to influence across all levels of the organization and maintain strong judgment, communication, and discretion in handling sensitive issues. Qualifications

7+ years of progressive HR experience, including 3+ years managing employee relations in California. Proven expertise in California labor law and HR practices relevant to hourly workers, including leave administration, investigations, and corrective action. Experience in manufacturing, logistics, or high-compliance operational environments. Track record of working in a fast-paced, ambiguous startup or high-growth environment. Experience standing up HR systems and practices from the ground up in early-stage companies, moving from R&D into Manufacturing. Demonstrated ability to influence across all levels of the organization. Nice to Have

HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP/SCP) or legal training related to employment law. Background in robotics, hardware, or deep tech environments is a plus. Compensation

At 1X your work and results will be rewarded with a total rewards package consisting of a base salary, stock options and benefits. Base salary range is $132,000 to $186,000. Your actual salary will be based on your knowledge, skills and experience Location Policy
