A growing, technology-driven insurance carrier is seeking a Corporate Counsel to join its headquarters on Florida’s Space Coast. This attorney will play a critical role supporting both claims and underwriting functions, handling regulatory and compliance matters, and ensuring legal integrity across operations in the 11 states where the company provides coverage. Provide legal guidance to both claims and underwriting teams on property & casualty insurance matters with expertise in homeowners insurance-related issues. Review, draft, and negotiate insurance contracts, policies, and vendor agreements. Manage defense litigation strategy and oversee outside counsel. Respond to all consumer complaints and regulatory inquiries. Support market conduct examinations and maintain compliance across multiple states. Advise on risk management, product filings, and regulatory changes impacting homeowners and flood insurance lines. Ensure insurance products are legally compliant in all jurisdictions where the company operates. Qualifications
J.D. and active Bar membership in Florida or Georgia (required). Minimum 3 years of legal practice, with strong defense litigation experience in homeowners and/or flood insurance. Background in property & casualty insurance compliance and regulatory interaction. Proven ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment.
