Moog Military Aircraft has an immediate opening for a
Senior Lean Continuous Improvement Engineer
to plan, organize, and conduct team-based improvement and process variation reduction activities to develop solutions for complex problems. In this role, you will build strategic relationships at all levels of the organization, from management to process owners and resource managers. You will balance leading, active participation, and coaching to develop and implement solutions. Reporting to a Lean/Continuous Improvement Manager, you will work onsite in Torrance, CA, following a 9/80 schedule.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering (preferred)
Minimum 5+ years of experience in Lean Manufacturing activities
Lean certification
Preferred Additional Skills:
Familiarity with manufacturing industry
Experience in aerospace or a highly regulated industry
Six Sigma Green Belt certification
Project Management certification
Responsibilities:
Optimize manufacturing processes, identify improvement areas, and implement Lean principles to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
Lead and coach leadership and kaizen teams on lean manufacturing principles to develop innovative solutions.
Lead value stream mapping kaizens to identify bottlenecks and improvement opportunities in fabrication, assembly, and non-manufacturing processes.
Design lean layouts to create efficient floor plans, analyze current layouts, and implement streamlined processes using standard work, continuous flow, and Kanban systems.
Use critical thinking and problem-solving to lead projects impacting strategic objectives, utilizing A3 and RCCA methodologies. Support cross-functional teams to reduce inventory, improve delivery, and decrease defects.
Provide Lean training and coaching on tools such as Waste Reduction, Standard Work, Value Stream Mapping, Setup Reduction, Continuous Flow, and Pull Systems.
Identify and lead key process improvement projects proactively.
Conduct organized, friendly kaizen events and project meetings to facilitate problem-solving and process improvement.
Manage projects from initiation to completion, providing updates to leadership.
