IT Compliance Analyst for SOX

The IT Compliance Analyst for SOX plays a pivotal role in ensuring that our organization adheres to the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX). In this dynamic position, you will work closely with the IT team and leadership to evaluate, test, and document IT general controls (ITGC) and application controls (ITAC) related to financial reporting. Your collaboration with internal and external auditors, as well as various business units, will be essential in maintaining effective compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist IT system owners in creating and updating SOX IT process narratives and Risk and Control Matrices (RCMs).
Engage in system scoping reviews to understand data flows critical to internal controls over financial reporting.
Ensure compliance tasks are completed timely and in alignment with established policies and procedures.
Support the design and implementation of IT General Controls for newly developed systems.
Work with process and control owners to identify and rectify deficiencies, advising on internal control enhancements as needed.
Communicate IT SOX issues and requirements effectively at all organizational levels to drive solutions.
Conduct reviews for importing or exporting systems and software.
Assess changes in processes and technology that may affect SOX controls in IT systems.
Act as a key liaison with auditors, managing ITGC testing evidence and remediation efforts.
Validate audit evidence to ensure its completeness, accuracy, and traceability to source systems.
Assist auditors in gathering necessary documentation for ITGC and ITAC audit inquiries.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including accounting, tax, treasury, and payroll, to provide essential IT SOX support.
Provide training and guidance to IT staff on best practices for SOX compliance.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or a related field.
At least 3 years of experience in a relevant position (internal audit, IT security, etc.).
Strong skills in auditing or reviewing technical systems.
Ability to identify performance indicators and recommend improvement actions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational and time management abilities to manage multiple tasks with varying deadlines.
Meticulous attention to detail and robust problem-solving skills.
Capacity to present objective, defensible, fact-based information effectively.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
