A late-stage biotech company developing gene therapies is looking to add a Director of Supply Chain to their growing team. In this role you will lead supply chain, planning, and logistics activities required to support the manufacture, testing, and distribution of autologous cell therapies. This position will be responsible for forecasting, procurement, and receipt of raw materials, consumables and reagents, inventory and warehouse management, plasmids/vector external supply coordination, demand and supply planning, shipping/logistics, and master scheduling. Acts as a liaison between the Manufacturing, Quality Control, Quality Assurance, and Clinical teams to ensure proper scheduling of product orders for receipt and processing, prepares and maintains the integrated production schedule for all cell culture activities and coordinates with all stakeholders to ensure orders are properly prepared and shipped according to customer requirements and all applicable regulations. Must have cell or gene therapy. Responsibilities

Establish and facilitate the supply and operations planning (S&OP) process. Drive the transition from manual processes to automated inventory management systems and technology. Install and lead joint steering committee (JSC) meetings with key suppliers. Develop proper organizational design to serve each business division while maintaining and improving overall operational and departmental efficiencies. Interface cross-functionally at all levels within the company, including communication with external service providers, such as freight forwarders, third party providers and governmental agencies. Troubleshoot and provide solutions for issues of a moderate to complex scope. Ensure proper compliance and adherence to all appropriate health and safety regulations and GMP requirements. Oversee day-to-day operations of finished goods warehouse. Manage warehousing activities to ensure processes and procedures are understood and followed; oversee warehouse compliance for inventory management, product handling, and other services as required. Consistently promote a strong corporate culture of quality, safety, performance, and customer service. Promote continuous improvement by utilizing quality engineering tools. Develop visual monitoring systems and key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor quality and efficiency to determine effectiveness of processes implemented for inventory control, purchasing, planning, and forecasting. Meet or exceed established goals relative to on-time delivery and shipping accuracy performance for customer/clinical shipments. Identify and implement cost savings measures. Communicate manufacturing capacity to the clinical team and coordinate the schedule for incoming patient orders and outgoing drug product shipments. Qualifications

Required Education/Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in life science/engineering, business, management information systems, or supply chain, or equivalent relevant industrial experience. 10 years of experience working in supply chain, planning, and logistics at a biotechnology or pharmaceutical products firm within a GMP setting. 5 years of supervisory experience. Must have cell or gene therapy. Preferred

Six Sigma, 5S or LEAN certification. 5 years of plant production/warehouse supervision experience. Proficient in Root Cause Analysis or similar methodology. Strategic sourcing and alliance management experience. Experience with chain of identity and chain of custody (COI/COC) concepts and systems. Computer Skills

Demonstrated proficiency with computerized tracking systems. Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Knowledge of enterprise resource management (ERP) systems. Knowledge of vendor managed inventory (VMI) systems. Ability and/or Skills

Demonstrated ability to work within strict deadlines in a fast-paced technical environment. Demonstrated results orientation. Demonstrated influencing skills. Self-directed. Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks. Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal). Seniority level
