Overview
Sr. Region Planner, New Regions Data Center Planning AWS Infrastructure Services. This role leads global Data Center planning processes for new AWS regions, aligning demand plans for data center capacity and the infrastructure response through space and power acquisition. You will forecast capacity, manage strategic execution, and drive capital expenditure decisions with data-driven recommendations. You will partner with key stakeholders to address demand changes and develop documentation for capital approvals. You will drive accountability across the Infrastructure organization and lead improvement initiatives to optimize the footprint for new region launches. Responsibilities
Lead demand planning and drive strategic alignment across multiple stakeholders to develop infrastructure capacity plans for data center space and power acquisition Program manage activities to plan and launch new data center infrastructure Dive deep into planning models to identify risks and opportunities; work cross-functionally to resolve inconsistencies Conduct scenario and root-cause analysis to inform data center capacity and capital expenditure decisions Define data requirements and metrics; manage data flow from capture to presentation and management Identify opportunities to simplify processes, identify business risks, and implement scalable resolutions Communicate ideas concisely to a wide range of stakeholders and obtain executive approvals as needed Monitor and align modeling assumptions for new region demand planning Qualifications
Basic: 5+ years of program or project management experience Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements Experience owning program strategy, end-to-end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership Scenario modeling and demand/supply planning Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of driving process improvements experience Masters degree or MBA in business, operations, or related field About AWS and Our Culture
