Expected salary range of $113,400 to $126,000, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k).

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Sr IT Analyst, Data Governance is responsible for driving enterprise-wide data governance initiatives, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and integrity of data across Constellation's data ecosystem. This role will develop metadata and data quality frameworks, implement monitoring and validation processes, and collaborate with key stakeholders to enforce data governance policies. This role will partner closely with business units, IT, compliance, and data governance teams to ensure adherence to regulatory standards, data quality best practices, and enterprise data strategies. The individual in this role will provide subject matter expertise in cataloging and management of metadata, data validation, issue resolution, and continuous quality improvements while championing a culture of data excellence within Constellation.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

Develop, implement, and manage the organization's data catalog (business glossary and technical metadata), ensuring accurate data representation and metadata management to enhance data discoverability and usability across departments. Document processes, data dictionaries, and lineage for transparency and ease of use.

Implement and maintain end-to-end data lineage tracking within the data catalog, enabling accurate impact analysis and ensuring transparency across data assets.

Develop and implement data quality frameworks, governance strategies, and enforcement mechanisms to ensure compliance with enterprise policies and regulatory requirements.

Collaborate with business and IT teams to design and implement data profiling, cleansing, and enrichment strategies across structured and unstructured datasets.

Establish and manage a Data Issue Management Process to track, triage, and resolve quality issues, defining and monitoring Key Data Quality Indicators (completeness, accuracy, consistency, uniqueness, timeliness).

Configure and maintain Microsoft Purview data quality rules, validation workflows, and automated profiling to enable lineage tracking, anomaly detection, and issue resolution.

Implement automated validation processes to identify errors and inconsistencies in data pipelines, lead cross-functional root cause investigations, and recommend process improvements.

Collaborate with Data Stewards, Data Engineers, and Business Analysts to resolve recurring issues and strengthen data reliability.

Oversee the implementation and adoption of data governance platforms on Microsoft Purview to streamline metadata and data quality monitoring.

Utilize Power BI or similar reporting tools to generate dashboards for tracking data quality KPIs, metadata/data catalog reporting and governance adoption trends.

Work closely with business units, data governance teams, IT, and compliance to drive enterprise-wide metadata and data quality awareness.

Provide training and mentorship to Data Stewards, Business Analysts, and Data Owners to enhance data literacy and governance adherence.

Advocate for best practices in data management and standardization, at executive and operational levels.

Act as a liaison between teams, departments, conducting outreach and training to promote the adoption and usage of the data catalog, including identifying key use cases and gathering feedback for continuous improvement.

Work with business intelligence teams to integrate the data catalog with tools like Power BI, ensuring seamless data discoverability for reporting and analytics purposes.

Define, monitor, and maintain Key Data Quality Indicators (KQIs) such as completeness, accuracy, consistency, uniqueness, and timeliness.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Data Science, or a related discipline with typically 5 to 8 years of experience in data management, data governance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience

Proven experience in designing and implementing enterprise data quality frameworks and governance enforcement strategies

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to detect, diagnose, and resolve complex data issues

Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including IT, business, compliance, and security teams, to implement data quality solutions

Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills to influence decision-making

Hands-on expertise in data governance tools such as Microsoft Purview, Collibra, Informatica Data Quality, Alation, or Talend

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview for metadata management, data lineage tracking, and governance automation

Admin experience in configuring automated data classification, governance workflows, and role-based access controls (RBAC) in Purview, Informatica (Axiom, EDC, IDQ), Talend or like tools

Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar reporting tools for tracking data quality KPIs, compliance performance, and stewardship trend

Strong understanding of data engineering pipelines and ETL/ELT processes to enforce data quality at ingestion

Prior experience in leading data quality initiatives for large-scale organizations or highly regulated industries (e.g., Energy, Healthcare, Financial Services)
