27332 Summary We are seeking an Applications Engineer for Sales to support our Red Viking subsidiary in Plymouth, MI. In this key role, you will act as a technical liaison between customers and engineering teams, transforming customer needs into innovative automation solutions. Leverage your expertise to design complex machines, develop persuasive proposals, and ensure a smooth transition to project execution. Design and lead the development of complex automation solutions, creating conceptual system architectures. Prepare and present detailed technical proposals, system descriptions, and accurate cost estimates. Work with internal teams to ensure seamless project transitions from proposal to execution. Provide technical leadership ensuring delivered solutions meet customer expectations and proposal commitments. Act as a trusted advisor to customers, demonstrating the value of advanced automation technologies. Required Education & Experience A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Minimum of 3 years in industrial automation, capital equipment, or manufacturing systems is required, with exposure to multiple industries being a plus. Strong technical aptitude and the ability to communicate complex systems effectively. Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills to engage customers and cross-functional teams. Highly self-motivated and organized, able to prioritize in a fast-paced environment. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed, up to 25% of the time.
