The platform currently has teams of experienced professionals operating from offices in Salt Lake City, Houston, Los Angeles, Charlotte, Dallas, Ft. Lauderdale, and Orange County.

Zions Capital Markets is seeking a well-qualified professional to join its Investment Banking Group as a Vice President. The Investment Banking Group provides advisory and execution services to middle market and upper middle market companies to assist with important strategic and financial matters including raising capital, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and other corporate finance activities. The Investment Banking group supports a wide variety of clients across different industries, which are largely located within the Bank’s footprint. Investment Banking and Securities Underwriting activities are offered through Zions Direct, Inc., member FINRA / SIPC.

This role provides an exciting opportunity to join an entrepreneurial group building a fast-growing platform within a key focus area of the Bank.

This position will be located at the Amegy Tower in Houston, TX.

Responsibilities

Support transaction activities by directing junior team members and managing deliverables

Assist senior members of the Capital Markets Group in the origination and execution of transactions involving multiple products and/or higher levels of due diligence

Lead and/or mentor junior bankers and team members throughout the origination and execution process

Manage and review the work of junior team members, including overseeing and assisting in the creation of financial analysis, projections, and business valuations

Perform complex financial analyses

Prepare business valuations using Excel-based financial models and comparable company and/or transaction analysis

Conduct industry and company-specific due diligence for transactions, prospecting, and create internal and external presentations materials

Lead / assist with internal company strategic initiatives, including Bancorp acquisition analysis and industry/market intelligence updates

Lead / attend offsite meetings with prospects, customers, and/or potential investors; coordinate follow-up activities (document feedback, track market data points, etc.)

Compile and distribute market and industry data to capital markets team members, other groups within Zions Bancorporation, customers, and prospects

Prepare / assist with deal information materials for internal committee and senior management review and approval

Ensure processes, controls, and work products are fully compliant with all applicable regulations, rules, and internal policies

Work with senior team members, bank relationship managers, and referral partners to identify and evaluate new prospects

Lead and assist in the development of pitchbooks, teasers, company overviews/CIMs, and management/board presentations

Manage the internal approval and referral process

Some travel is required

Manage ad hoc tasks and perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Requires a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a similarly related field. MBA and/or CFA is a plus

5+ years of experience in investment banking, transaction advisory services, or similar experience

Demonstrated ability to assemble deal marketing materials

Experience working with internal teams to prepare materials for review and approval by senior management and/or committee(s)

Significant knowledge of investment banking products, services and markets

Excellent analytical, quantitative and communication skills, both verbal and written

Ability to work with internal teams to prepare materials for review and approval by senior management and/or committee(s)

Significant knowledge of applicable investment banking regulations

High level of focus on work quality and attention to detail

Self-directed, highly motivated and able to work independently

Ability to perform under pressure and tight deadlines

Ability to learn and apply complex concepts quickly

Excellent organizational skills with demonstrated track record of meeting deadlines and effective time management

Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and track details

Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

Required to obtain required FINRA licenses including Series 79 and Series 63, if not currently held/active. Required within 90 days of starting
