Overview

Business Development Manager to lead the Latin America team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the formation and execution of the Latin America Group strategy. This role requires a deep understanding of the economic, political, and social factors that influence the Latin America market. What you will be responsible for

Identify and leverage opportunities for growth within the Latin America market, enhance the firm’s market position, and deliver integrated legal solutions to clients. Ensure the Latin America group collaborates with sector, themes and global strategic client teams to develop priority clients and prospects. Drive disciplined client outreach and relationship activity across markets. Foster cross-product collaboration with global business units and knowledge, education and thought leadership teams. Maximise client relationship opportunities through flagship marketing and events in partnership with the Marketing team. Prepare and rehearse lawyers for pivotal client meetings and pitches. Leverage Client Insight & Business Intelligence to inform marketing decisions and support client development. Increase visibility of upcoming client meetings to drive cross-selling. Lead brand and reputational activities for the Latin America region with practice area and sector BD leads. Conduct market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks in Latin American markets. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop strategies that utilize market insights for growth. Provide timely updates on developments in Latin American markets to stakeholders. Build and maintain relationships with market participants, including government officials, industry experts, and business leaders. Keep core marketing and pitch materials updated in the Firm’s pitch database (Foundation). Promote best practices in the legal directory process to protect Band 1 positions and improve rankings. What you will do

Develop and implement comprehensive market strategies with the Global Head of Sectors, Markets & Themes, aligned to the firm’s objectives. Drive development and deepening of the firm’s expertise in key sectors and product areas through markets. Work with Client Insights and Business Intelligence to identify emerging themes and trends, integrating these into services and client solutions. Foster collaboration across practice areas to deliver integrated themes and go-to-market campaigns, in partnership with Marketing. Enhance market positioning, identify opportunities, and strengthen client relationships within chosen themes. Position the firm as a leader in Latin America through thought leadership, speaking engagements, and participation in relevant forums. Serve as the key global contact for Latin America inquiries, including pitch inputs and cross-practice/cross-office opportunities. Qualifications

Extensive experience in business development, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment; regional focus is a plus. Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese required. Proven track record in developing and executing successful BD and marketing strategies. Excellent relationship-building, communication, and presentation skills (written and verbal). Strong proficiency with tools like CRM and Mergermarket. Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, law, or related field; MBA or related advanced degree preferred. Ability to work in the U.S. and adhere to the Firm’s Agile Working Policy (office presence required at least three days per week). How we will support you

Clifford Chance US LLP offers a comprehensive benefits and compensation package. The salary range for this role is $180,000 – $225,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
