Teacher salaries are exempt and start at $65,500 and increase with years of experience. Please see the salary scale here. We have two high schools in DC looking for excellent teachers to join their teams. Teachers: Aiming to teach the whole child; roles include English, math, science, social studies, and homeroom teachers. Special Education Teachers: Collaborate with general education teachers to support students toward IEP goals in inclusion, resource, and pull-out settings. Specials: Important for building student talents outside core academic spaces (e.g., sports, dance, art, music, NAF, African American studies, and more). Key Requirements & Responsibilities

Other Information & Requirements
Typical instruction from 8:00 am–3:30 pm; on-duty in school 7:30 am–5:00 pm (two days) or 7:30 am–4:00 pm (three days) weekly Clerical duties as needed (textbooks, supplies, attendance, etc.) Morning, lunch, and afternoon duties as assigned Background check requirements under applicable law Additional responsibilities may arise during the year (e.g., field trips, open houses, conferences). We will communicate with notice and flexibility.
Qualifications
Commitment to working with students from communities with limited access to quality educational opportunities (Required) At least one year of teaching experience in a PreK3–12th grade setting or an education degree with student teaching (Strongly Preferred) Bachelor’s degree in content area (Preferred) Experience/strength in content area (Preferred) Compensation details: Clear, competitive salary starting at $65,500 with progression based on experience; renewal add-ons up to $5,000 per year for returning staff; see salary scale linked in the job posting Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, voluntary benefits; employer-paid disability and life insurance; One Medical membership Retirement: 403(b) with 3% employer contribution and 3% match after three years Leave and schedule: Up to 10 paid sick days, 12 paid holidays, and school breaks (subject to change; exact schedule in offer letter) Transit: Pre-tax deductions for WMATA transit Development: Access to fellowships and grants for professional growth Equal Employment Opportunity
