Overview

Senior Director, Project Management role at Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA Construction & Development). The position reports to the Assistant Vice President, Deputy Project Executive and is based in New York at 2 Broadway. Telework is eligible (one day per week). Salary range: $142,005 to $184,778. Responsibilities

Manage capital project delivery within a business unit of the MTA Construction and Development Delivery Department. Ensure project delivery is safe, efficient, on schedule, within budget, and compliant with project documents, contractual requirements, and applicable policies and standards. Monitor project status, mitigate risk, resolve issues, and provide recommendations to senior management for critical issue resolution. Coordinate project delivery activities with C&D and operating agency personnel; manage staff, contractors, consultants, and agency forces to execute capital projects safely and efficiently. Mentor and manage staff to deliver complex capital projects; coordinate activities through project close-out. Monitor performance against baselines, identify and mitigate issues and risks, and pursue opportunities for improvement. Collaborate with Development and Contracts across the project life-cycle, including scope development, design criteria, procurement, bid/proposal evaluation, change orders, and contractor/consultant evaluation. Review and approve contract invoices and charges; ensure expenditures are properly charged. Maintain comprehensive project document control and prepare reports, presentations, and studies; coordinate audit/inquiry responses for MTA and external oversight bodies. Lead staff selection, coaching, training, development, evaluation, and discipline/termination; foster a professional environment that values diversity and inclusion. Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction or Project Management, Business Administration, Transportation, or related field. Minimum twelve (12) years of related experience; at least eight (8) years in managing construction programs/projects or supervisory roles in a large, multi-faceted organization. Licensed Professional Engineer or Registered Architect desirable. PMP and CCM certifications preferred. Significant experience in project management for major construction projects with highly complex systems. Proven ability to collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders, excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in high-profile, high-pressure environments; strong leadership, problem-solving, and prioritization skills. Other Information
