Job Overview:
In this individual contributor position, you will work with direct supervision to manage commercial claims that offer low to moderate complexity and exposure. Your responsibilities will involve investigating and resolving claims according to our company protocols, focusing on quality service and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage an inventory of low to moderate complexity commercial claims, verifying policy coverage, gathering necessary information, and maintaining file documentation while authorizing disbursements within defined authority limits.
Enhance customer satisfaction by engaging professionally with insureds, claimants, and business partners, achieving quality and cycle time standards, and providing timely updates.
Establish timely and adequate reserves by interpreting policy language and estimating claim valuation, adhering to company claims handling protocols.
Conduct investigations to determine liability and compensability, including gathering information from insureds, witnesses, and experts.
Collaborate with internal and external partners to facilitate optimal claim outcomes.
Authorize claim disbursements by determining liability and negotiating settlements, escalating to management as necessary.
Work towards effectively managing expenses by resolving claims quickly and selecting the appropriate resources.
Identify potential subrogation/salvage opportunities or fraud occurrences and refer them for further investigation when needed.
Ensure compliance with state/local regulatory requirements and stay updated on insurance laws and trends.
Perform other duties as assigned to support department goals.
Reporting Structure:
Reports typically to a Manager or above.
Skills and Qualifications:
Basic knowledge of the commercial insurance industry, products, and claims practices.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to provide exceptional customer service.
Ability to build collaborative relationships with internal and external partners.

Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and eagerness to learn business-related software.

Education and Experience:
High school diploma required; Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred.
Must obtain and maintain an Insurance Adjuster License within 90 days of hire, where applicable.
Previous claim handling or business experience in the insurance industry and/or customer service is preferred.
In certain jurisdictions, CNA is required to include an estimate of the compensation for this role. For example, in District of Columbia, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, and Washington, the national base pay range for this job level is $47,000 to $78,000 annually. Salary determinations are based on various factors, including but not limited to relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and location.
