About the Role:
As a Production Shift Supervisor, you will work closely with our Operations Leader and Site Leader, taking charge of a dedicated shift within our fast-paced food manufacturing environment. Your primary goal will be to ensure production schedules are met safely and efficiently while continuously driving improvements in cost and operational effectiveness. Main Responsibilities: Lead the production team by upholding Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and adhering to food safety regulations. Foster a culture of teamwork and respect while effectively managing all Line Leaders and Team Leaders during your shift. Ensure smooth operations by coordinating schedules, products, and manpower across departments. Monitor production targets and troubleshoot issues promptly to maintain output levels. Conduct training and orientation for new team members, ensuring they are prepared to excel in their roles. Maintain a safe working environment by regularly inspecting practices and enforcing standards. Assist in testing new equipment and procedures, while maintaining a solid understanding of all equipment used in the production area. Utilize SAP and WMS systems for tracking production activities. Compile daily reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) and follow up to ensure goals are met. Manage and update skills matrices and break schedules for your team. Collaborate with leadership to address performance and behavioral concerns among team members. Prepare daily communication for leaders, including schedules and updates. Handle administrative tasks such as time and attendance tracking and inventory monitoring. Willingness to adapt to a floating schedule, working across multiple shifts, including weekends and night assignments as needed. Qualifications: 3-5 years of leadership experience in manufacturing, particularly in food production is preferred. Proven ability to lead and motivate a team to achieve demanding schedules. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills with a grasp of basic math. Experience in conflict resolution and team engagement. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently. Flexibility to work varying shifts including days, afternoons, nights, and weekends. Knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, and O.H.S.A compliance is essential. Basic computer proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook. A post-secondary degree is considered an asset.
