Position Summary:
EZARC, Inc. is seeking a motivated individual with hands-on structural steel experience who is interested in growing into a full-time Estimator role. This is a career-track opportunity ideal for someone with a background as an Ironworker, Foreman, Project Manager, or in steel shop fabrication or erection, who is ready to take the next step in their career.
Through on-the-job training and mentorship, you will learn how to estimate structural steel fabrication and erection projects. This position is perfect for someone with field or shop experience who understands how steel is built and installed-and who wants to be part of the front-end preconstruction process.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist senior estimators with takeoffs, quantity surveys, and pricing for structural steel bids.
Interpret structural and architectural drawings, specifications, and project scopes.
Participate in job walks, pre-bid meetings, and project handoffs.
Work with vendors and subcontractors to gather pricing and lead times.
Learn to develop and submit accurate, competitive bid proposals.
Coordinate with shop and field teams to ensure estimates align with real-world production and installation.
Organize and maintain bid documentation and tracking systems.
Embrace training and mentorship to grow into an independent Estimator role.
Required Experience & Skills:
One or more of the following:
Experience as an Ironworker or Steel Erector
Structural steel shop fabrication background
Foreman or Superintendent experience in steel construction
Project management in structural or miscellaneous steel
Desire and ability to learn steel estimating through structured training.
Familiarity with construction drawings and steel terminology.
Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to follow through.
Basic computer proficiency, especially with Microsoft Excel and PDF tools.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Valid driver's license and ability to attend site visits as needed.
(but not required):
Experience with steel erection sequencing or jobsite logistics
Familiarity with Bluebeam, Tekla EPM, or other construction/estimating software
Exposure to change orders, RFIs, or submittals
Previous Estimating experience
