Job Summary/Purpose:
Responsible for managing surgery scheduling tasks, including prior authorization, coding, and general administrative duties.

Samaritan Gastroenterology offers comprehensive care to patients across multiple counties. Our collaborative team includes skilled physicians, physician associates, nurses, and support staff dedicated to digestive health.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Post-secondary courses in Medical Terminology, computer applications, and administrative skills preferred.
Experience in a medical office or hospital setting is highly regarded.
Customer service and reception-related experience is necessary.
Familiarity with ICD-10 and CPT coding, along with experience in delegated healthcare services, is essential.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Strong service orientation to assist and care for diverse patient needs.
Proficient in clerical tasks, including word processing and office procedures.
Understanding of confidentiality laws (HIPAA) and the importance of patient information privacy.
Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work well in a team and foster positive relationships with multidisciplinary staff.
Able to empathize with and understand the requirements of a diverse patient population across all ages.
