The Senior Marine Engineer / Senior Structural Engineer will lead marine infrastructure's design, analysis, and documentation, emphasizing
waterfront and port structures, including bulkheads, piers, mooring/breasting dolphins, and pile-supported foundations. The engineer will oversee field investigations, construction-phase observations, and rehabilitating existing marine assets. Additionally, the role involves mentoring junior engineers, supporting business development, and collaborating with clients and regulatory agencies to deliver high-quality, cost-effective marine solutions. Position Description Lead design and analysis of marine structures: bulkheads, piers, mooring/breasting dolphins. Assess and rehabilitate existing waterfront structures. Oversee field investigations and construction observations. Mentor junior engineers and support business development. Functions & Responsibilities Design and analyze marine structures and foundations. Evaluate structural integrity and propose rehabilitation solutions. Attend meetings with clients, agencies, and industry professionals. Supervise technical and administrative staff. Ensure compliance with regulations and project constraints. Prepare reports, cost estimates, and RFP responses. Review marine designs for accuracy and compliance with standards. Qualifications Bachelor's in Civil or Marine Engineering (Structural or Geotechnical). 15+ years in marine/structural engineering. Valid P.E. License in NJ, PA, NY, or DE (additional licenses a plus). Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Expertise in marine structural design and analysis software. Knowledge of maritime regulations and permitting. Proficiency in marine materials (steel, concrete, timber, composites). Strong problem-solving and project management skills. Exceptional communication for reports and presentations.
