Job Description
The Senior Controls Engineer is an integral part of Champion’s continued success in applying Process Automation and SCADA solutions. This high-profile role focuses on PLC control and SCADA data visualization, incorporating automation, energy monitoring, and system analytics. Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
Programming, configuring, and maintaining PLC programs and SCADA objects that control and model field assets. Deploying and configuring SCADA objects to support data acquisition from field assets during commissioning and operation. Creating and enforcing project-specific standards, enhancing solutions, benchmarking performance, and estimating effort for initiatives. Creating animated visualizations of system graphics and operator interface screens. Generating custom programming scripts for global functions. Preparing project submittals. Commissioning and startup of instrumentation and control projects. Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience. At least 10 years of experience with SCADA, PLC, and HMI applications. Field experience in startup and commissioning of Water and Wastewater I&C projects. Experience with AutoCAD. Proficiency in reading and understanding electrical control schematics. Strong understanding of control and process logic, communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, MODbus, TCP/IP), and network infrastructure. Experience with FactoryTalk, Iconics Genesis, Wonderware, GE Fanuc Intellution/Proficy, Citect, Motorola Moscad/ACE 3600. Experience in control and ladder logic programming, scripting, and PLC program uploads. HMI development experience is a plus. Experience with calibration, startup, and commissioning of industrial instruments. Company Description
