No prior wound care experience is required—comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided by our experienced Wound Care Nurse Practitioners and Medical Director to equip you with the specialized knowledge and skills needed for success in this field. As a Wound Care Nurse Practitioner, you will assess and treat wounds caused by accidents, surgical procedures, and other health-related conditions. You will develop both immediate and long-term treatment plans while educating patients and families on proper care practices to promote healing and wellness. Additionally, you will collaborate with supervising physicians, coordinate case management, and serve as a liaison between families and healthcare administrators.

Job Type

  • Full-time or Part-time
  • Independent contractor position with competitive pay. Earn the potential to make over $100/hour. Further details will be discussed during the initial interview.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough assessments of patient wounds and determine appropriate treatment plans.
  • Educate patients and their families on wound care best practices to promote healing and overall wellness.
  • Monitor, track, and document patient progress in compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
  • Collaborate with supervising physicians to ensure seamless patient care and recovery.
  • Liaise with families and healthcare administrators to ensure clear communication and care coordination.

Qualifications

  • Education: Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)
  • Licensure: Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (NP).
  • Certifications: CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications required.
  • Specialized Skills: Certification and/or prior experience in wound care is preferred but not required. Prior experience in inpatient and palliative care is preferred. Additional certifications in wound care (e.g., WCC, CWON) can further enhance your qualifications.
  • Additional Requirements: A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
