What You’ll Do

As a Nurse Practitioner with Comprehensive Care, you will:

• Provide both urgent and chronic care to patients in correctional facilities or emergency shelter homes.
• Conduct comprehensive health assessments, physical exams, and mental health evaluations.
• Develop and manage individualized treatment plans for diverse patient populations.
• Perform outpatient procedures such as skin biopsies, laceration repair, splinting/casting, and more.
• Prescribe and manage medications in alignment with agency protocols.
• Educate and counsel patients on prevention, wellness, and long-term health.
• Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and mental health professionals.

Qualifications

• Current California RN license and Nurse Practitioner certification.
• Valid NP Furnishing Number and DEA license.
• Current BLS (AHA or equivalent).
• Board certification (for NP II level) in Family Practice, Adult/Geriatric, Pediatrics, or Psychiatric Mental Health.
• One year of NP experience preferred for NP II; new graduates may qualify for NP I.

Special Requirements

• Ability to work in a correctional or juvenile facility environment.
• Must pass a background check and maintain security clearance.
• Flexibility to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
