Nurse Practitioner  - Pediatrics - Day Shift or evening shift

Job Responsibilities:

  • Identify changes in a child's signs and symptoms and intervene in emergent situations.
  • Differentiate between normal and abnormal physical findings.
  • Engage patients and their families in conversation to determine the types and extent of illnesses.
  • Create and implement individualized plans of nursing care to meet each patient's specific requirements.
  • Documents all patient care activities.
  • Order and follow up on medical tests.
  • Diagnose and treat acute, chronic, and critical illnesses by interpreting test results effectively.
  • Educate patients and their families.
  • Act as a point of contact for responding to questions and concerns regarding treatments and illnesses.
  • Participates in community and clinic education programs.
  • Maintains current credentialing, license, and board certification.
  • Administer medication using age-appropriate guidelines.
  • Evaluate a child for signs and symptoms of abuse.
  • Maintains the privacy of patients.
  • Assists in the supervision of health professional students.
  • Demonstrates integrity, care, and compassion when working with patients/families and staff.
  • Performs other duties assigned by the Employer from time to time that are commensurate with professional services.

Requirements:

·         Current Illinois APRN License

·         Current Illinois Registered Nurse license

·         Current Illinois Controlled Substance License within six months of hire.

·         Eligible for DEA registration

·         Current PALS certification

  • Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (Preferred)
  • Urgent Care experience is a PLUS.
  • Weekend availability

Pay: $105,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year. Expected hours: 40 per week.

Ventracare is a 12-bed Community-Based Children’s Health Care Facility that provides nursing care, respite, or transitional care to children younger than 22 years of age. The care period for respite is 1 to 14 days, and 1 to 120 days for transitional care to home or other appropriate settings for medically fragile children, technology-dependent children, and children with special health care needs who are deemed clinically stable by a physician.
