Big South Fork Medical Center located in Oneida, TN is seeking full time Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) for the ER and Inpatient Unit
12 Hour Shifts, Every Other Weekend Off
1 Night shift positions available: 7 p.m. - 7 a.m Full Time Night Shift Differential: Base + 15%
Summary: The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides patient-centered care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This role collaborates with RN, physicians and multidisciplinary team members to achieve the highest standards of care specific to the age and needs of the patient while maintaining a supportive and compassionate environment for patients and their families.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Practices in accordance with hospital philosophy; Nursing Department's philosophy, goals, and standards of care; TN Board of Nursing; TN Nursing Practice Act and other regulating agencies.
- Enhances continuity of care by meeting assigned patient's physical and psychosocial needs through utilization of the nursing process.
- Ensures a secure and safe patient environment by practicing in accordance with organization and unit specific policies, procedures, and standards of care.
- Establishes a caring, humanitarian environment by providing emotional, psychosocial, and spiritual support to patients and their significant others.
- Promotes the patient's well-being, maximal independence and ability to make informed decisions by reinforcing the patient/significant others' knowledge and understanding of the disease, medications and self-care skills.
- Ensures that quality patient care is delivered by assuming accountability and responsibility for the delivery of care.
- Floats to other areas of the hospital as needed when census dictates other needs of the LPN.
- Timely documents nursing activity in EMR.
- Maintains job-specific competency which addresses effective, safe use of equipment, infection control, disaster preparedness training, emergency lifesaving procedures (CPR), and patient information management.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
- One (1) year in a hospital setting preferred but not required
- Newly licensed LPNs welcome to apply
- LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse -TN State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure required
- BCLS - Basic Life Support required
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support preferred
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred
