Austin Preparatory School, located in Reading, Massachusetts about 15 miles north of Boston, is seeking qualified candidates for the position of School Nurse. Founded in 1961, Austin Prep is an independent co-educational Catholic day school in the Augustinian tradition for students in grades 6-12. There are 800+ students enrolled in the school.

The School Nurse reports to the Lead Nurse and Assistant Head/Head of the Upper School is responsible for establishing protocols for health services at Austin Prep while ensuring adherence to legal requirements. This role also includes overseeing the daily operation of the Health Office, managing of student medical records, and ensuring compliance with national, state and local health laws. The School Nurse works closely with Parents to support for students with chronic illnesses or disabilities. Additionally, the School Nurse supports the School and its leadership in advancing the mission of Austin Prep and safeguarding the School’s Roman Catholic identity and Augustinian heritage.

Education/Experience/Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse
  • Bachelor degree in Nursing
  • 5-7 year of Nursing experience, preferably in a school setting.
  • 2-4 years of management experience.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
