Job Description
The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered healthcare services in collaboration with physicians and other medical staff. The NP conducts physical exams, diagnoses and treats illnesses, orders and interprets diagnostic tests, prescribes medications, and provides education and counseling to patients and their families.

At Advocare Delran Pediatrics, we specialize in providing high quality health care for newborns, children, and adolescents up to 21 years of age. Our physicians and nurse practitioner work closely with your family to help you keep your children well.
Essential Functions:
- Performing physical examinations of patients to evaluate health and diagnose illnesses
- Administering and performing diagnostic tests, such as x-rays and laboratory tests
- Creating patient care plans and contributing to existing ones.
- Detecting changes in patients' health and modifying treatment plans, as needed.
- Educating and counseling patients and families on presenting health problems, treatment plans, and home care
- Facilitating the patient’s transition within and between health care settings, e.g., admitting, transferring, and discharging patients.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary team members by making appropriate referrals.
- Planning and managing patient care according to the patient’s needs
- Ensuring compliance with all healthcare regulations including HIPPA, OSHA, etc.
- Actively maintaining knowledge of current medical research and trends
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proficiency with medical instruments and equipment required to perform your work.
- Knowledge of computer-based data management programs and information systems, as well as medical records and point-of-interview technology.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare workers, and collaborate with team members
- Must be able to think critically, evaluate various options to treat a condition and then identify the one he or she decides will have the best outcome.
- Maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced yet friendly environment
- Must be well organized and detail-oriented; demonstrating leadership to maintain credibility
- Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion concerning health service records and information
Education and Experience:
- Board Certified Advanced Practice Nurse licensure required
- Graduate degree from an accredited nursing program, such as a Master of Science in nursing
- Must have a current license to practice as a nurse practitioner in the state of practice
