As a leader in delivering compassionate and effective care, we are seeking a dedicated and caring Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our team. This role encompasses work within our Specialized Partial Hospital Programs (Children’s Specialized Partial Hospital, Intensive Outpatient Program, and Adult Partial Hospital) as well as outpatient care. Both full-time and part-time opportunities are available.
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our team in providing high-quality mental health care. This role is essential in delivering comprehensive patient care within a clinical setting, focusing on individuals with various mental health needs. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations of patients' mental health status.
- Provide medication management and monitor patient responses to treatments.
- Offer timely intervention for acute mental health issues.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams as well as student clinical interns within a teaching hospital environment to enhance patient care.
- Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions and treatment options.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using the electronic health record system.
- Participate and collaborate in weekly team meetings for problem-solving challenging cases with best practices in psychiatric care.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
- Current NJ state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner.
- Active Board Certification
- Experience in psychiatric inpatient or other higher-lever-of-care unit is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with patients and families.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment while managing multiple priorities.
