We operate one of the largest maintenance, overhaul and exchange programs in the world, and deliver safe and certified products, using innovative technologies and sophisticated clean sheet designs.

THE POSITION…

As a Software Certification Engineer, you will plan and implement the RTCA DO-178C and DO-254 lifecycle processes for avionics, power electronics, and battery systems. You’ll verify complex microcontroller and FPGA designs to achieve coverage of functional and structural aspects. Product areas include cockpit displays and instruments, local and remote sensing, data conversion and storage, lithium battery management, AC/DC and DC/DC power conversion up to 8000W, in-seat power solutions, and various other components needed in aircraft systems. To be successful in this role, you’ll need to provide expert analysis to meet the highest level of safety and reliability, implementing safety-critical software design processes. You’ll be part of the reason our customers consider us a premier instrument, avionics, and aircraft power solutions provider.

THIS POSITION MAY BE FOR YOU IF…

  • You have a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, or computer science.
  • You have a minimum one year experience with RTCA DO-178C or implementation of any safety-critical software design process similar in nature.
  • You have the ability to work directly with target hardware, including lab bench equipment and other tools for debugging and analysis.
  • You are proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • You have strong attention to detail.
  • You are organized, focused and results oriented.
  • You are a problem-solver with critical thinking and prioritizing skills.
  • You have excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

WE WOULD REALLY LIKE IT IF… (but it’s not a deal breaker)

  • You have experience with C++, C#, or Python languages for a PC application software.
  • You have familiarity with FPGA or PLD components and VHDL or Verilog.
  • You have experience with RTCA DO-178C or DO-254 OR a similar process for the design and verification of software or complex hardware-based products.
  • You have familiarity with formal coding standards and safety-critical design considerations.
  • You have proficiency in C, especially for embedded systems.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM ONE DAY TO THE NEXT…

  • Create and review design data within the software qualification lifecycle process. Practice safety-critical methods, create plans, requirements, design standards, coding standards, change tracking and verification, formal and functional verification
  • Test and troubleshoot prototype and certified code on target hardware. Includes working in a lab bench environment with the necessary test equipment
  • Design embedded software for microcontroller-based systems, as well as PC-based applications for verification and manufacturing
  • Support software design using current tools, design environments and documentation methods
  • Prototype and execute test programs to verify compliance with applicable performance, regulatory, and quality requirements

WE ARE ONE OF THE BEST PLACES TO WORK…

  • We provide competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package.
  • We promote an environment where you can excel in your career while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
  • Our facility is climate controlled, clean, organized, and safe. We operate in a professional, light manufacturing environment.
  • We foster a friendly and inclusive workplace in which all employees feel valued, respected, and accepted.
