Job Title: Customer Service Associate
Location: Retail Grocery Location
Position Overview
The customer service associate will increase customer confidence and loyalty by providing accurate, fast, and friendly customer service desk and media services in accordance with company guidelines, policies, and procedures. This role will satisfactorily resolve customer concerns or escalate them to appropriate management levels.
Primary Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Provide continuous attention to customer needs; greet, assist, and thank customers promptly, courteously, and friendly.
- Address customer issues/complaints and resolve to full satisfaction immediately, following company guidelines, while maintaining professionalism; escalate issues to management as needed with a positive attitude.
- Coordinate daily store cash and accounting functions according to company policies and management instructions.
- Maintain knowledge of front-end operations and stay current on policy changes to support service levels and accountability.
- Manage ACM lanes per company standards; ensure proper opening, report printing, and cash maintenance.
- Troubleshoot front-end equipment issues via self-help tools or help desk contact.
- Stock front-end products; restock efficiently to minimize waste and costs.
- Exhibit professional telephone etiquette; connect calls appropriately.
- Maintain confidentiality of information.
- Handle discarded or returned merchandise.
- Perform cashier duties as needed.
- Perform pricing duties as needed.
- Keep work area clean and safe; report hazards or faulty equipment.
- Report theft, shoplifting, unauthorized markdowns, property damage, or illegal actions to management.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum
- Must be 18 years or older.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Ability to understand and follow English instructions.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. or ability to obtain it.
- Successful pre-employment drug testing and background check.
Preferred
- Strong customer service communication skills.
- Knowledge of front-end systems and equipment.
- Proficient computer skills.
