Shine Early Learning partners with states and local communities to accelerate child and family outcomes by providing professional development and other supports. Since its founding in 2011, Shine Early Learning has partnered with cities, states, and programs across the U.S. serving hundreds of thousands of students, families, and educators. Shine Early Learning’s experts have decades of experience in early child care education, training, and technical assistance. Montana selected Shine Early Learning as the state’s new regulatory and quality technical assistance services vendor.

The Montana-based project, named SPARK Learning Lab Montana (SPARK), provides regulatory and quality technical assistance to child care programs and professionals across the state. We offer technical assistance and training focused on building relationships, using a practice-based model that includes self-directed, group, and one-on-one learning. We seek professionals eager to make a meaningful impact on young children’s lives by supporting quality improvement efforts for child care providers. We are building a Montana-based team of leaders, technical assistance staff, and specialists working across the state to ensure community knowledge and engagement.

This position is based in Helena or Bozeman, MT

Job Summary:

The Administrative Assistant II supports the Project Director by managing administrative functions essential for the program’s effective operation.

  • Perform daily administrative duties such as answering calls, data entry, mail handling, and supporting senior personnel.
  • Develop organized systems to support project administration.
  • Assist in preparing meeting agendas and distributing materials.
  • Greet visitors courteously.
  • Manage office supplies inventory.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Oversee operation of office equipment.
  • Support Human Resources activities, including new hire processes and document management.
  • Coordinate purchase requisitions and vendor relationships.
  • Participate in meetings, events, and training.
  • Provide backup support to HR team members.
  • Attend workshops and seminars to stay current on HR practices.
  • Assist with employee communication and personnel file maintenance.
  • Serve on teams and committees as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; AA/AS in business or related field preferred.
  • At least 1 year of office/administrative experience.
  • Experience in government or early childhood education administration preferred.
  • Physical exam and background checks required.
  • Travel up to 25% for work-related meetings.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.

Salary: Up to $45,000
