Position Summary

Operate a variety of off highway construction vehicles used in earth moving operations, including but not limited to articulating trucks, rigid framed haul trucks, and agricultural tractors, in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Participate in a drug-free workplace with a random drug testing program.
  2. Drive a safety culture promoting Incident and Injury Free Performance.
  3. Safely operate off highway construction vehicles for dust control and dirt compaction.
  4. Transport soil and other materials to appropriate locations for stockpiling or disposal.
  5. Use hand-held mobile radio units to coordinate tasks and resources.
  6. Read and comply with safety plans, rules, maintenance instructions, training materials, MSDS, warning tags, traffic signs, and procedure manuals.
  7. Understand operational characteristics of various off highway construction vehicles, including articulated dump trucks.
  8. Work extended hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.
  9. Perform additional assignments and special projects as directed.

Basic Qualifications

  1. High school diploma/GED or equivalent.
  2. Experience requirements:
    1. Truck driver 1: Ten or more years of driving experience.
    2. Truck driver 2: Five or more years of driving experience.
    3. Truck driver 3: Two or more years of driving experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Safety training preferred but not mandatory, with company-provided additional training as needed:
    • 40 Hour HAZWOPER training
    • Competent Person Safety Training
    • 8-Hour Supervisory Training
    • 30-Hour OSHA Construction Safety Training
    • First Aid and CPR

Physical Demands & Work Environment

This role involves lifting up to 50 pounds, extended standing or walking on project sites, climbing in and out of equipment, and working in confined spaces or at heights. Conditions may include exposure to machinery, chemicals, dust, fumes, noise, and extreme weather. Proper PPE, including eyewear, gloves, a hard hat, and steel-toed boots, is required. Effective communication, tool use, and safety adherence are essential.
