Mcaninch Corp. is hiring: Truck Driver in Des Moines

McAninch Corporation is a leader in the grading and underground utility industry in Central Iowa. We partner with a wide variety of clients to provide the groundwork and underground utilities (water, sanitary, and stormwater) for residential and industrial construction projects.

McAninch Corporation is a seasonal construction contractor. Our season typically runs from mid-March through mid-December. Some winter work may be available on certain projects, but is not guaranteed.

Position Description:

Our drivers haul various materials to and from our construction sites, including soil, rock, and water, primarily with end-dump trucks or tractors pulling side-dump trailers. Drivers operate equipment on the vehicle to load, secure, and unload/disperse cargo/materials or they may assist in loading, securing, and unloading the truck manually. They maintain radio or telephone contact with base or a supervisor to receive instructions or be dispatched to new locations. They keep records of materials and products transported. They are also responsible for cleaning, inspecting, and servicing the vehicle.

Job Requirements:

1. Must have Class A CDL and manual transmission endorsement.
2. 2 years + experience or graduation certificate.
3. Experience with side-dump trailers preferred.
4. Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and fitness for duty exam, including climbing, lifting, balancing, and stooping. Must be able to push/pull up to 100 lbs and lift 25 lbs.
5. Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
6. Monday through Saturday availability required.
7. Must be 21 years or older.
8. Some travel required outside of Central Iowa.

Truck Driver wage $27.75 per hour. McAninch also pays for 100% of all benefits including health insurance premiums and pension dues as provided for by the Local 90 Teamsters. Overtime is paid after 40 hours per week and employees are paid weekly on every Friday.
