Allan Myers is hiring: Tack Truck Driver in Newport News

This position drives a truck equipped with water and maintains proper levels on all equipment assigned to the driver. Conducts all work in accordance with company policies, procedures, and programs.

• Makes daily pre/post trip inspections on assigned vehicle to ensure safety and check for damages or tampering. Reports issues immediately to the shop.
• Drives tanker truck to predetermined destinations, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and local roads.
• Works with paving crews, spray bituminous tack-coat.
• Maintains a truck log as per state, federal, and company regulations.
• Reports traffic or site condition problems promptly. Gathers information on job site locations, light bridges, or roads en route.
• Ensures truck maintenance, cleanliness, and repairs follow guidelines in the Truck Driver's Handbook.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or GED preferred, or related work experience.
• 1-2 years CDL driving experience with GVW of 33,000 pounds or more.
• Must have Tanker endorsement.
• Meets all DOT physical requirements.
• Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License required.
• Hazmat experience preferred but not mandatory.
• Skilled in loading/unloading fuel and oil at terminals.
• Valid Driver's License required.
