Position Summary:

The Tack Truck Driver plays a vital role in asphalt paving operations by ensuring the even application of tack coat material to prepared surfaces. This position is responsible for safely operating and maintaining the tack truck, managing materials, and assisting the asphalt paving crew to create strong, durable bonds between asphalt layers.

Responsibilities:

1. Comply with (and actively promote) all Safety policies and procedures including reporting all accidents, incidents and near misses to ensure adherence to our Number One Core Value – Safety, first in everything we do.
2. Maintain good health status and flexibility to bend, push, pull, stoop and/or twist.
3. Maintain proper maintenance of truck and distributor including tire pressure, fluid levels, etc.
4. Heat tack and operate tack truck.
5. Take beginning/ending rack readings and complete tack report.
6. Communicate with dispatchers using 2-way radios and verbal communication.
7. Complete log books, vehicle inspection and site condition reports.
8. Protect areas that are not supposed to be primed.
9. Keep your truck clean at all times.
10. Assist paving crew with various duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

1. Minimum of 5 years of related experience.
2. CDL A preferred.
3. Must be able to work nights and weekends.
4. Hold a current DOT physical card.
5. Ability to read a map to navigate around the Central FL area.
6. Strong commitment to success of all.
