Job Description

The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has an opening for a Truck Driver at the Waco Corps, located in Waco, TX.

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Corps Officers, drives Salvation Army owned vehicle loading and unloading routine pickups and/or deliveries of material, donated or otherwise, to serve production needs of the store and/or general operation of the corps.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of the assigned geographical area.
• Ability to organize pick-up tickets and to schedule routes efficiently to save time and fuel.
• Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with co-workers.
• Ability to present a positive and professional image of The Salvation Army.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or G.E.D.
• Prior experience driving a box truck.
• Any equivalent combination of training and experience providing the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Certifications

• Valid State Driver's License.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

• Ability to meet attendance requirements.
• Effective reading, writing, and communication skills in English.
• Ability to read maps and follow written or verbal directions.
• Physical ability to perform walking, stooping, standing, climbing, and lifting (more than 50 lbs.) frequently.
• Ability to drive a box truck safely and in compliance with laws and policies.

Additional Comments

Pay Grade: NE, Pay Range: Minimum $13.14 - $16.00
