CHS Inc. is hiring: Seasonal Truck Driver in Moscow

Overview

Seasonal Truck Driver role at CHS Inc. in Moscow, ID for fall harvest. This position is for hauling treated seed and dry and liquid fertilizer to local farmers and ranchers. The ideal candidate would have a Class A CDL with tanker endorsement (preferred, not required) and no transmission restrictions, with experience driving on steep and windy roads. This is a Monday–Saturday position with 10–12 hour shifts from mid September to beginning of November, with time and a half pay after 40 hours.

Base pay

$18.85/hr - $30.10/hr

Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate and timely pick up/deliveries to customers in a safe, timely, and professional manner. Assist with loading or unloading as needed.
• Provide excellent customer service. Greet customers promptly and courteously; address concerns and elevate to leadership if required.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations, including pre-trip and post-trip reporting, proper load securement, and hours of service.
• Maintain cleanliness of vehicle(s) inside and out and the work environment.
• Complete and document daily maintenance inspections; coordinate repairs and preventive maintenance as needed.
• Promote and follow a strong safety culture; adhere to safety policies, training, PPE procedures, and regulations. Identify hazards and address unsafe actions or conditions.
• Report all incidents, accidents, and traffic violations to a supervisor immediately.
• Enroll in and complete mandatory CHS random drug and alcohol testing and Continuous Monitoring Program.
• Assist operational staff and perform other duties as needed or assigned; may include intercompany related driving.

Minimum qualifications

• Class A CDL
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English and understand highway signs and signals

Additional qualifications

• Ability to work additional hours and occasional weekends to meet business demands
• Valid Class A CDL preferred
• Tanker endorsement preferred
• Agriculture background preferred
• Customer service experience preferred
• Bulk liquid, pressure trailer, or forklift experience preferred
• Pre-employment screening may be required per job requirements and industry guidelines; must pass screenings as applicable (drug, criminal, motor vehicle check, physical requirements, and FMCSA Clearinghouse)

Physical requirements

• Climb on back of trailers as needed
