Overview
Responsible for the accurate and timely delivery of clean linen and the pickup of all soiled linen, following all D.O.T. regulations and JCAHO guidelines for handling clean and soiled linen.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions
- Cleans and services building areas as assigned, including medication storage areas, according to established procedures and schedules.
- Maintains secured access to designated medication storage areas when assigned and alerts nursing/clinical supervisor immediately if medications are found in any unlocked, unsupervised area.
- Responsible for maintaining the truck in top operating condition.
- Keeps the truck clean inside and out.
- Loads and unloads the truck safely and efficiently.
- Provides high-quality service to all customers and meets their needs consistently.
- Maintains good communication between customers and laundry management.
- Assists with laundry tasks as needed.
- Maintains all required documents, gas credit cards, and invoices responsibly, ensuring proper delivery to the appropriate person.

- Maintains performance, patient and employee satisfaction, and financial standards as outlined in performance evaluations.
- Complies with requirements outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Adheres to DCH Behavioral Standards, creating positive relationships with patients, families, coworkers, colleagues, and self.
- Uses electronic mail, time and attendance software, learning management software, and intranet as required.
- Follows all DCH Health System policies and procedures.
- Performs any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required
Must possess a valid driver’s license; a CDL is desirable. A high school diploma or GED is preferred. Ability to understand verbal and written instructions and communicate verbally is required. Cooperates with insurance underwriting processes.
Must be able to read, write legibly, speak, and comprehend English.
Working Conditions
Work Context & Physical Factors:
Long periods of driving, climbing in and out of truck cabs, and extended periods of loading and unloading linen carts weighing up to 800 pounds. Heavy exertion required, occasionally lifting 50-100 pounds, frequently 25-50 pounds, and constantly 10-20 pounds. Exposure to human body fluids, chemicals, and hazards, requiring protective equipment. Good balance and mobility needed, including stooping, kneeling, reaching, and feeling. Hearing and vision must be within normal or corrected range. Physical presence onsite is essential, with or without reasonable accommodations.
