Logistec is hiring: Truck Driver - CC in Corpus Christi

Overview

Position Overview:

This position is responsible for operating terminal yard trucks and assisting with the loading and discharging of cargo within the facility.

Requirements: MUST HAVE A TWIC, HEAVY HAULING EXPERIENCE. THIS IS NOT AN OVER THE ROAD POSITION. Experience is required.

Responsibilities:

• Perform pre-shift mechanical inspection of assigned company truck (yard mule) and immediately report any deficiencies.
• Operate yard truck and ensure cargo is properly secured for transport throughout the facility, including loading & unloading break bulk cargo, containers, and steel/pipe, using standard equipment such as flatbed trailers, pipe trailers, open top containers, and moffets.
• Couple and uncouple trailers by changing trailer jack positions, connecting or disconnecting air and electrical lines.
• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew and checking that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned.
• Maintain logs of loads and submit accurate daily shift activity.
• Maintain a clean work area, free of debris or safety hazards and awareness of surroundings (i.e., vehicles, people, equipment, etc.) at all times.
• Perform other duties such as general labor, as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Must have three (3) years of driving a mule jockey or tractor trailer driving experience.
• Must have the ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Must be able to accurately process alpha/numeric.
• Must have the ability to function effectively in a fast-paced work environment.
• Must have the ability to work independently with limited supervision and strong initiative.
• Must have the ability to think logically, follow procedures, instructions, and make sound decisions.
• Must be able to work flexible hours including nights, overtime, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

• The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, climb, bend, squat, twist.
• The employee must occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
• The employee is frequently required to talk and hear.
• The employee is continuously required to sit (while driving), grasp, and exercise eye-hand coordination and eye-hand-foot coordination and finger dexterity.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
