Job Summary and Responsibilities

Local home daily CDL A. Thyssenkrupp is hiring a Local Truck Driver for Smithfield, RI. This position requires transporting materials to dedicated customer accounts. Monday through Friday with weekends off.

Responsibilities

• Verify that correct items are loaded for delivery.
• Perform periodic inspections before, during, and after delivery to ensure that the load is properly fastened down and secure.
• Assist in loading and unloading of trucks. Ensure the truck is properly secured and not overweight.
• Deliver product and proper paperwork to customers in a courteous and timely manner.
• Ensure that any debris caused by loading or unloading is cleaned up.
• Maintain the truck's overall service and perform required inspections.
• Complete all necessary paperwork at the end of the shift, including daily logs, inspection logs, delivery receipts, vehicle inspection, hours of service, etc.
• Collect any COD money owed and ensure it is handed to the proper personnel upon return to the plant.
• Provide feedback to supervision regarding customer problems, mechanical problems or delivery problems on returned proof of delivery sheets (load sheet).

Qualifications

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• 1 year minimum verifiable CDL-A driving experience.
• Excellent driving record.
• Flat-bed truck driving experience.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• High school diploma or GED.

Compensation

Job compensation: $24.18 - $32.71
